Elwood Paul ‘Woody’ Soney, a member of Walpole Island First Nation, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, April 4, 2020 at the age of 84.
Elwood is the son of the late Alfred Norman & Daisey (Nahdee) Soney. Beloved father of Joyce Soney (Stacey Goldrick), Judy Soney (Tim Turner), Cindy Soney and Winston Soney (Misty Blackbird). Dear grandfather of Ava Goldrick, Brandon Soney (Brianna), Nicole Soney (Dylan) and Alan Soney Greenbird. Brother of Charles, Marilyn, Owen, Deanna, Kenneth and the late Delbert and Janis. Woody worked in Michigan for most of his life as a welder and golfing greens keeper. He was passionate about Billiard and cards, enjoying euchre and crib.
A private family visiting and funeral will be held at the HAYCOCK-CAVANAGH FUNERAL HOME, 409 Nelson Street in Wallaceburg. Interment in Highbanks Cemetery. Online tributes to Woody may be left at www.CavanaghFuneralHome.ca
