Online cat adoptions, curbside pickup & dog tags available with PAWR

In response to the current situation with COVID-19, Pet and Wildlife Rescue (PAWR) continues to close its doors to the general public, but they are still dedicated to serving the community through alternative means.

As of Tuesday, April 7, PAWR has implemented a platform, which can be found at www.pawr.org, that to adopt a cat online and schedule a ‘curbside adoption pickup’ to minimize interactions with the public, while still allowing animals to find their forever homes.

Municipal dog tags may be purchased over the phone with a credit card by calling 519-360-1998, officials with PAWR say.

Additionally, PAWR’s website now allows pet owners to purchase tags from the comfort of their home.

“Once the transaction is completed, all purchased tags will be mailed out,” stated Myriam Armstrong, operations manager at PAWR, in a press release.

“Animal control wants to remind everyone that the Municipality’s renewal deadline for dog tags has been extended to June 30, 2020. If your dog has never had a Chatham-Kent tag, this deadline does not apply to you and a tag must be purchased immediately to avoid a monetary fine.”

Armstrong added: “Please keep in mind that although the doors are locked at the shelter, strays and surrenders are still being accepted through means of appointment. Please call 226-996-9969 during business hours if you must bring an animal in.”
