Man arrested on outstanding warrants

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Officers in Wallaceburg responded to a disturbance on April 9.

A 26-year-old man was acting erratically and hitting hydro poles with a golf club.

Upon police arrival the man attempted to flee and he was arrested after a short foot pursuit.

The man was found to be wanted on an outstanding warrant for theft, possession of stolen property and mischief.

Search incident to arrest also yielded a substance believed to be prohibited under the Controlled Drug and Substances Act.

The man was released with conditions and a future court date.

Man arrested for failing to comply with bail conditions

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: At approximately 10:30 p.m. on Thursday, police were dispatched to an address in Wallaceburg.

A 32-year-old man attended the address of his ex-girlfriend and was unwanted.

The man is currently on bail conditions not to attend this address or communicate with his ex.

While police were speaking with the victim in this matter the male party returned to the area.

Further to the breach of bail conditions the man had four outstanding warrants.

He was arrested and transported to Chatham-Kent Police Headquarters for a bail hearing.

Traffic stop leads to weapon and drug charges

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On Wednesday night, an officer on general patrol observed a man driving a vehicle on Lansdowne Avenue in Chatham with plates that were not authorized for the vehicle.

The officer initiated a traffic stop and the man was arrested.

A search incident to arrest, resulted in the man being found to be in possession of a flick knife, bear spray, suspected hydromorphone and tools that were stolen from a vehicle in Chatham last weekend.

A 28-year-old Chatham man has been charged with:

– Using plates not authorized for the vehicle

– Driving with no authorized validation on plate

– Operating a vehicle with no insurance

– Driving with no license

– Unauthorized possession of a weapon x 2

– Failing to comply with his release conditions x3

– Breach of probation x3

– Being in possession of property obtained by a crime under $5000

– Drug possession

He was released pending a future court date of June 25, 2020.

Executed warrants

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Wednesday afternoon, police located a man in Chatham who was wanted for stealing his ex-girlfriend’s dogs and car on Monday.

The 42-year-old London man was arrested and charged with failing to comply with his probation order, theft of motor vehicle, theft under $5,000 and two counts of being in possession of property obtained by a crime under $5,000.

He was released pending a future court date of June 24, 2020.

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Wednesday night, an officer on general patrol observed a man riding his BMX bike through a red light at the intersection of Wellington Street and Queen Street in Chatham.

The officer stopped the man for this offence and through investigation, learned that he was wanted for fraud related offences and public mischief.

A 26-year-old Chatham man was arrested and released pending a future court date of June 24, 2020.

Theft in Bothwell

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Sometime between Tuesday at 5 p.m. and Wednesday at 7:30 a.m. unknown suspects entered a barn at Sloan’s Christmas Tree Village on Zone 7 Road, causing about $750 damage.

Once inside, the suspects stole:

– Millermatic 211 MIG Welder with tank and cart

– 22 HP Honda motor

– STIHL MS 362 chain saws x4

– DEWALT drills and batteries x5

– Mastercraft grinder

– DEWALT grinder

– Miscellaneous tools

Total value of the theft has been estimated at $10,000.

Suspended driver tries to evade police

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Tuesday morning, an officer on general patrol observed a vehicle travelling eastbound on Grand Avenue in Chatham with only one license plate.

A query of the license plate revealed that it was not registered to that vehicle.

The driver made a quick turn into a nearby parking lot, executed a u-turn and proceeded back onto Grand Avenue, now travelling westbound, in what appeared to be an attempt to evade police.

The officer activated his emergency lighting and the driver failed to stop for approximately one kilometer, when he pulled into a residential driveway.

The 37-year-old Chatham man was arrested and charged with using a license plate not authorized for the vehicle, driving while suspended and failing to stop for police.

He was released and will be required to attend Provincial Offences Court on July 8, 2020.

Pair arrested on outstanding warrants

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Tuesday afternoon, police located a man and woman, who were both wanted on outstanding warrants, walking on the Third Street Bridge in Chatham.

A 35-year-old man of no fixed address was arrested for mischief under $5,000 and two counts of failing to comply with his release conditions.

He was released pending a future court date of July 14, 2020.

A 37-year-old woman of no fixed address was arrested for two counts of failing to comply with her release conditions.

She was released pending a future court date of July 14, 2020.

Man charged with breach of probation

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On September 6, 2019 a man entered into a probation order with several conditions.

One of those conditions stated that he was not to attend the apartment complex of a specific woman in Wallaceburg.

Tuesday, police located the man at this address putting himself in breach of his probation order.

The 29-year-old Wallaceburg man was arrested and charged with failing to comply.

He was released pending a future court date of July 15, 2020.

Man charged with assault

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Tuesday night, police responded to a disturbance between a man and woman in a parking lot in Chatham.

The 51-year-old man was arrested and charged with two counts of assault.

He was released pending a future court date of June 17, 2020.

Executed warrants

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Monday morning, a man wanted for mischief under $5,000 and failing to comply with his release conditions, attended police headquarters and turned himself in.

The 28-year-old Walpole Island man was arrested and released pending a future court date of June 23, 2020.

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Monday afternoon, a man wanted for failing to comply with his release conditions and breaching his probation order, attended police headquarters and turned himself in.

The 27-year-old Cottam man was arrested and released pending a future court date of June 23, 2020.

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Early Tuesday morning, a woman wanted for fraud related offences was arrested in Wallaceburg.

A 32-year-old Wallaceburg woman was released pending a future court date of June 16, 2020.

Motor vehicle collision

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Monday morning, police responded to a two vehicle collision on Dufferin Avenue near Ash Street in Wallaceburg.

No one was injured.

Total damage was estimated at $5,000.

A 63-year-old man was charged with following too closely.
