Man charged with failing to comply

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Yesterday morning around 9:30 a.m. an officer on general patrol observed a man, known to be on house arrest in Kingsville, in the driveway of a residence in Shrewsbury.

The officer stopped and confirmed that the man was not in the presence of his surety.

A 23-year-old Kingsville man was arrested and charged with failing to comply with his release conditions.

He was released pending a future court date of June 30, 2020.

Man charged with resist arrest

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Last night, police responded to the report of two suspicious men at Walmart in Wallaceburg.

Through investigation, police learned that one of the men was currently on conditions not to attend Walmart.

As the man was placed under arrest, he resisted the officer.

A 29-year-old Wallaceburg man has been charged with failing to comply with his release conditions and resist arrest.

He was released pending a future court date of July 15, 2020.

Shoplifting leads to charges

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Last night, police responded to Shoppers Drug Mart on St. Clair Street in Chatham in regards to a shoplifting complaint.

The man fled prior to police arrival, however an observant citizen provided police with his direction of travel.

Officers located the man on Sheldon Avenue and he was arrested.

Upon being searched incident to arrest, the man was found to be in possession of a government issued letter belonging to someone else.

Through investigation, police also learned that this was the second time that the man had stolen items from Shoppers Drug Mart on this date

The 38-year-old Tilbury man has been charged with theft of mail, two counts of theft under $5,000 and two counts of being in possession of property obtained by a crime under $5,000.

He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Executed warrants

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Last night, shortly after 11 p.m. police located a man in the area of Dufferin Avenue and Duluth Street who was wanted for failing to attend court.

The 34-year-old Chatham was arrested and has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Last night, police attended a residence in Wallaceburg with paramedics for a medical call for assistance.

While on scene, police located a woman who was wanted for failing to attend court and for her fingerprints.

The 31-year-old Wallaceburg woman was arrested and released pending a future court date of July 15, 2020.

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Early this morning, police located a man on Princess Street in Chatham who was wanted for breaching his Probation Order.

A 38-year-old Chatham man was arrested and charged.

He was released pending a future court date.
