Man charged with drug possession

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Yesterday morning, shortly after 8 a.m. an officer on general patrol located a man riding a bicycle on Gray Street in Chatham, who was wanted for breaching his probation order and failing to attend court.

Upon being searched incident to arrest, the man was found to be in possession of suspected methamphetamine, clear baggies and cash.

A 20-year-old Chatham man was charged with possession for the purposes of trafficking.

He was transported to the courthouse for a bail hearing and released pending a future court date of July 9, 2020.

Man charged with domestic related offences

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Yesterday afternoon, police received information that a man who was currently on conditions not to contact his ex-girlfriend, had called her.

Officers located the man and he was arrested.

The 25-year-old Chatham man has been charged with uttering threats and two counts of failing to comply with his release conditions.

He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Breach of curfew leads to drug charges

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Around 1:30 a.m. this morning, police responded to the report of an unwanted man in the downtown Chatham area.

Officers located the man and through investigation, learned that he was currently bound by a daily curfew.

Upon being searched incident to arrest, the man was found to be in possession of suspected methamphetamine.

The 38-year-old man of no fixed address has been charged with failing to comply with his release conditions and drug possession.

He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Theft of construction tools in Chatham

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Sometime over the weekend, unknown suspects entered a locked compound on Riverview Drive and stole various construction tools from locked trailers.

Total value of the theft has been estimated at $2,200.
