Laura May McKaig, a resident of Dresden, passed away peacefully at the CKHA-Public General Campus in Chatham on Thursday, April 30, 2020 at the age of 88.
Laura was daughter of the late Joseph Earl and Jessie Marie (Manning) Deacon and sister Martha. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Melvin Wesley McKaig in 2003. Loving mother of Dennis and Darla McKaig. Cherished Nanny to Tyler (Jemina) and Laura. Cherished great Nanny to Dante, Gisele, and Aria.
Laura, a member of Charlemont Free Methodist Church, was known as a prayer warrior and a passionate Monarchist and Royal follower. Although she did not die of covid19, it nonetheless stole a family’s last hours to say goodbye, hold hands, and comfort each other.
A private family internment will be held at the Dresden Cemetery. A proper and well deserved celebration of Laura’s life will be announced at a later date.
