UCC’s Mackenzie Beselaere joins St. Clair’s women’s basketball team

Another Wallaceburg Airhawk will be playing basketball at the post-secondary level next season.

The St. Clair College women’s basketball team announced on Friday, May 1 that Mackenzie Beselaere, from Ursuline Collegiate College in Chatham, will be joining the team in the fall.

Saints head coach Andy Kiss said Beselaere, a 5’4″ guard, “owns a good pedigree as she is a product of the strong Wallaceburg Airhawks club program.

“Mackenzie is a scrappy defender with a high basketball IQ and will definitely provide us with roster depth in the backcourt,” Kiss said.

Beselaere will be taking the fitness and health promotion program at St. Clair.

Saints officials said the St. Clair College Women’s Basketball team are putting together one of “their best recruiting classes” who will all don the green and gold in the fall of 2020.

Beselaere will join Wallaceburg’s Gabrielle ‘Gabi’ Whiteye on the squad next season, who committed to the club earlier this year.
