Help make a miracle

The organizers for Chatham-Kent’s largest food drive in history are encouraging members of the community to “help make a miracle.”

The ‘May 16th Miracle’ committee is encouraging people to place a non-perishable on their front step by 12 p.m. and a volunteer will pick it up. For people living in rural area, various rural depots have been set-up. Here are more details:

‘May 16th Miracle’ organizers are encouraging people to adhere to social distancing protocols throughout the day, whether you are a volunteer or donating food.

“Our top priority for the May 16th Miracle is the health and safety of all participants,” organizers say.

“We have been working closely with Dr. David Colby, Chatham-Kent Medical Officer of Health and the Chatham-Kent Public Health Unit since we began our planning. We are following their recommendations on how to ensure a safe and contact-free process, maintain physical distancing and practice healthy hand hygiene every step of the way.”

Organizers added: “We need 100% adherence to this safety strategy.”
