Lambton OPP officials allege: On May 12, 2020, Lambton County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) was conducting speed enforcement on Lakeshore Road, Plympton-Wyoming.

At approximately 12 p.m. the officer observed a vehicle travelling over 60km/h above the speed limit.

Lambton OPP initiated a traffic stop.

A 23 year-old driver from Petrolia, was charged with Race a Motor Vehicle – Excessive Speed, pursuant to the Highway Traffic Act.

As a result, the driver’s licence has been suspended for seven days and the vehicle was towed and impounded for seven days.

The Lambton OPP wants to remind all motorists to obey the traffic laws and report aggressive driving by calling 1-888-310-1122 or 9-1-1 if necessary.

OPP issues three-day suspension

Lambton OPP officials allege: On May 12, 2020, Lambton County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) was conducting general patrol on Egremont Road, Plympton-Wyoming. At approximately 6 a.m. the officer observed a vehicle with a suspected impaired driver.

The Lambton OPP officer initiated a traffic stop. Upon speaking with driver, it was apparent the driver had recently consumed an alcoholic beverage at which time a roadside screening device was administered. A reading in “warn” range was determined.

As a result, a 55 year-old driver from Plympton-Wyoming, was issued a three day drivers licence suspension.

Traffic complaint leads to impaired driving charges

Lambton OPP officials allege: On May 17, 2020 at approximately 2:15 a.m. members of the Lambton County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a traffic complaint on Highway 402 Westbound, Township of Plympton-Wyoming.

Lambton OPP located the vehicle a short time later and initiated a traffic stop. Upon speaking with the driver, it became apparent the driver had consumed an alcoholic beverage at which time a roadside screening device was administered. A reading of “Fail” was determined. The driver was subsequently arrested and transported to the Lambton OPP detachment where they provided two suitable samples above the legal limit.

A 32-year-old St. Clair Township man has been charged with Operation While Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 Plus), pursuant to the Criminal Code of Canada.

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice-Sarnia, Ontario on June 8, 2020.
