Police: Meth seized in Wallaceburg, breach, impaired

Possession of methamphetamine

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: While on general patrol in the area of McNaughton Avenue in Wallaceburg, police observed a 60-year-old Port Lambton man and a 29-year-old Walpole Island man.

Through investigation, police discovered both were in possession of suspected methamphetamine.

The males were arrested and then released on a Form 9 with a future court date of August 27, 2020.

Breach of release conditions

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: While on general patrol in the area of 406 Park Street in Chatham, officers observed a man operating a motor vehicle contrary to release conditions.

Police also knew the accused to be on house arrest.

Police attempted to stop the vehicle and the male got out of the vehicle and ran into a back yard.

Officers followed and attempted to make an arrest.

The male resisted but was eventually arrested and transported to CKPS headquarters.

He was held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Domestic dispute

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: At 8:46 p.m. police responded to a domestic dispute on Dover Street in Chatham.

A woman called reporting she was assaulted by her boyfriend.

Officers attended and arrested the male for two counts of assault.

The man was transported to CKPS headquarters and held for bail.

Operation over 80

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: At 10:30 p.m. police received a driving complaint on Arkwood Road in Chatham.

Officers searched the area and located the vehicle.

The vehicle was stopped and the driver failed the approved screening device.

The driver was brought to headquarters where the driver registered over 200 milligrams of alcohol per 100 millilitres of blood.

The person was released with a future court date.
