Police: Arson charge laid in Wallaceburg, breach, theft

Warrant in Wallaceburg

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On May 23, 2020 police received a call about a suspicious person in the area of Wallace Street in Wallaceburg.

Upon arrival a 26-year-old man of no fixed address was located.

The man was found to have an outstanding warrant for mischief, theft and arson.

He was arrested on the strength of the warrant and released with
several conditions. 

Breach of probation in Chatham

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On May 23, 2020 while on general patrol police observed a male and female walking together on
Tweedsmuir Avenue.

The 26-year-old Chatham man was on conditions to stay away from the 25-year-old Chatham woman and was arrested for breaching these conditions.

He was released with a future court date.

Bail violation and theft in Chatham

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On May 24, 2020, while on general patrol, police observed a 48-year-old woman at a closed business at 5:30 a.m.

The woman proceeded to removed two items from the property and was stopped, identified and found to be on previous release conditions to remain away from the business.

The woman was arrested for bail violation, theft and possession, transported to Chatham-Kent Police Headquarters and held pending a bail hearing.
