Man charged with assault

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Yesterday morning, police received information regarding a disturbance, which occurred in Chatham, earlier this month between a man and woman known to each other.

A 37-year-old Chatham man was arrested and charged with assault.

He was released pending a future court date of September 11, 2020.

Man charged with breaching curfew

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On February 19, 2020 a man was released from court with several conditions.

One of those conditions stated that he was to obey a daily curfew of 9 p.m. to 7 a.m.

Around 2:45 a.m. this morning, an officer on general patrol observed the man walking on Wellington Street in Chatham.

A 40-year-old Chatham man was arrested and charged with failing to comply with his release conditions.

He was released pending a future court date of August 11, 2020.

Man charged with breach of probation

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Last night, police responded to a convenience store in Chatham regarding a man who was causing a disturbance outside.

Officers located the man following a short foot chase and through investigation learned that he was currently on conditions not to attend the convenience store.

A 22-year-old Chatham man was arrested and charged with breaching his Probation Order.

He was released pending a future court date of August 21, 2020.

Traffic enforcement

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Yesterday, members of the Traffic Unit conducted speed enforcement on Mill Street in Tilbury.

In just two hours, 13 motorists were stopped and charged with speeding.
