Joao Da Silva ‘John’ Ferreira, a resident of Wallaceburg, passed away peacefully with his family by his side, at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance in Chatham on Wednesday, June 24, 2020 at the age of 62.
Joao was born in Vila Verde Portuagal to the late Antonio & Maria (Da Silva) Ferreira.
Beloved husband of Maria (Pimenta).
Cherished father of Carla Van Damme and Kevin Ferreira (Sarah Guzik) and grandfather of Josh and Isabel.
Brother of Anna Nogueira (John), Joaquim Ferreira (Fatima), Maria Sameira Ferreira (Sergio) and the late Jose Ferreira (Maria).
Joao was an automotive mechanic by trade and had worked in Wallaceburg for Benn Iron Foundry and Select Finishing.
The family will receive relatives and friends at the HAYCOCK-CAVANAGH FUNERAL HOME, 409 Nelson Street in Wallaceburg on Sunday from 1-3 & 6-8 PM.
The Funeral Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at Our Lady Help of Christians Church on Monday, June 29 at 11 AM. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, reservations are required and may be made at https://signup.com/go/MOLfSZx or by calling the funeral home.
