Animal rescue centre fire on Brook Line

A pig has died after a fire at an animal rescue centre on Brook Line.

Chatham-Kent Fire & Emergency Services officials say firefighters from Stations #7 – Chatham South responded to the blaze just before midnight.

Fire officials say there were no personal injuries, one pig died and the fire is not considered suspicious.

Fire officials say Stations #4, #5 and #6 also attended to assist.

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials say the damage is estimated at $300,000 after the barn fire.

Police say the incident is currently under investigation,
