One firefighter was taken to hospital and the Office of the Ontario Fire Marshal is investigating after a blaze at 7092 Pain Court Line on Tuesday, July 7, 2020.
“(The) fire on Pain Court Line yesterday remains under investigation by (Chatham-Kent Fire and Emergency Services) and Office of the Fire Marshal,” fire officials tweeted on Wednesday morning.
“One firefighter was taken to hospital for precautionary checks due to the punishing high heat conditions. He was released home yesterday evening.”
Fire officials say crews from station #4 Dover responded, with assistance from Stations #15 Raleigh North and Station #19 Tilbury, to a house fire on Pain Court Line just after 3 p.m.
“A dog perished in fire and one firefighter was transported to hospital by EMS,” fire officials said in a media release.
The cause and damage estimates is under investigation, fire officials say.
