Lambton OPP officials allege: On July 15, 2020 at approximately 9:15 p.m. members of the Lambton County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were on general patrol on Lambton Line in St. Clair Township.
A vehicle stop was initiated in relation to a Highway Traffic Act infraction.
Upon speaking with the driver, it became apparent the driver had consumed an alcoholic beverage at which time a roadside screening device was administered.
A reading of ‘fail’ was determined.
The driver was subsequently arrested and transported to the Lambton OPP detachment where they provided two suitable samples above the legal limit.
A 51-year-old Walpole Island First Nation man has been charged with Operation While Impaired – Alcohol and Drugs and Operation While Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 Plus), pursuant to the Criminal Code of Canada.
The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice-Sarnia, Ontario on August 17, 2020.
