At 4:12 p.m. EDT, Environment Canada meteorologists are tracking a severe thunderstorm capable of producing very strong wind gusts and up to toonie size hail.

This severe thunderstorm is located 5 kilometres southeast of Merlin, moving southeast at 65 km/h.

Hazard: 90 km/h wind gusts and toonie size hail. A tornado is also possible.

Locations impacted include:
Port Alma, Merlin and Dealtown.

Another severe thunderstorm is located near Stoney Point, moving east at 65 km/h.

Hazard: 90 km/h wind gusts and nickel size hail.

Locations impacted include:
Tilbury, Stoney Point, Lighthouse Cove and North Buxton.

Strong wind gusts can toss loose objects, damage weak buildings, break branches off trees and overturn large vehicles. Remember, severe thunderstorms can produce tornadoes.

At 3:58 p.m. EDT, Environment Canada meteorologists are tracking a severe thunderstorm capable of producing very strong wind gusts.

A severe thunderstorm is located 5 kilometres west of Merlin, moving southeast at 65 km/h.

Hazard: 90 km/h wind gusts. A tornado is also possible.

Locations impacted include:
Port Alma, Merlin, North Buxton and Dealtown.

Another severe thunderstorm is located 9 kilometres north of Belle River, moving east at 65 km/h.

Hazard: 90 km/h wind gusts.

Locations impacted include:
Tilbury, Stoney Point, Comber, Lighthouse Cove and Pain Court.

Strong wind gusts can toss loose objects, damage weak buildings, break branches off trees and overturn large vehicles.

Leamington, Amherstburg, Kingsville, McGregor, Colchester and Harrow.

Another line of severe thunderstorms is located from Chatham to Stoney Point, moving southeast at 65 km/h.

Hazard: 90 km/h wind gusts.

Locations impacted include:
Chatham, Tilbury, Blenheim, Rondeau Provincial Park, Stoney Point, Lighthouse Cove, Pain Court, Port Alma, Merlin, North Buxton, Dealtown and Erieau.

Chatham, Tilbury, Blenheim, Rondeau Provincial Park, Stoney Point, Lighthouse Cove, Pain Court, Port Alma, Merlin, North Buxton, Dealtown and Erieau.

Hazard: 90 km/h wind gusts.

Locations impacted include:
Chatham, Mitchell’s Bay, Grande Pointe, Arkwood and Thamesville.

Environment Canada issued a special weather statement in Chatham-Kent at 10:48 a.m.

Here are the details: Scattered thunderstorms are expected to move eastward across portions of southwestern Ontario at times this afternoon and this evening.

A few of these storms may contain wind gusts of 80 km/h.

Torrential downpours, frequent lightning, and hail will also be associated with some storms.
