Motorcycle enthusiasts are expected to roll into downtown Wallaceburg this weekend as the annual motorcycle display returns as part of WAMBO on Saturday, Aug. 8.
Organizer Ian Dent said a variety of motorcycles have already been preregistered for the event, with more riders expected to sign up closer to the show depending on the weather forecast.
“I have a nice mix of motorcycles preregistered so far,” Dent said.
Among the bikes already expected are Harley-Davidsons, a 1959 BSA Super Rocket and a 1968 Triumph Trophy. Dent said he is also hoping the Knievel Bones Chopper will return to this year’s event.
“Most of the bikes will wait to preregister the day before the event based on the weather forecast so I’m hoping for good weather,” Dent said. “We have had approx 50 bikes the past two years so I’m expecting similar numbers again this year.”
The display is open to all motorcycles, with awards available for antique motorcycles that are at least 20 years old in the North American, European and Asian categories. Additional prizes will be presented for the oldest motorcycle entered and the motorcycle that travelled the farthest to attend.
Registration costs $10 and will be available beginning at 8 a.m. on Saturday. The registration tent will be located at the corner of James Street and Nelson Street, beside the Clock Tower Dental building.
