T.J. Brodie picks up an assist in Flames qualifying round win

The NHL is back in action and so is Dresden Minor Hockey product, T.J. Brodie.

The Calgary Flames defenceman picked up an assist on a short handed goal by Tobias Reider at the 12:51 mark of the second period on Saturday night, August 1, 2020.

The goal gave Calgary a 2-1 lead over the Winnipeg Jets in the opening game of their qualifying round series, and it proved to be all Calgary needed to capture the win.

The Flames went on to score two more goals, resulting in a 4-1 final.

Brodie finished the game with the one assist and an even +/- rating in 21:07 minutes of ice time.

He also recorded two blocked shots and one hit.

Game #2 between Calgary and Winnipeg will be held on Monday, August 3, 2020 at 2:30 p.m.
