Shoreline erosion leads to partial closure of Bluewater Line

A portion of Bluewater Line, in Chatham Township just outside of Wallaceburg, will be closed until further notice.

Infrastructure and Engineering Services officials in Chatham-Kent say shoreline erosion damage to the roadway in various locations has led to the closure.

“(The road is) to remain partially closed until repairs are completed,” Municipal official say.

The closure impacts the stretch from Arnold Road to Mirwin Road.

“(The) roadway will be partially closed to allow westbound traffic only,” Municipal official say.

“(The) eastbound lane will be closed at Mirwin Road.”

Emergency vehicles will have access through the closure area, Municipal official added.

The detrour route is from Mirwin Road, to Dufferin Avenue, to Arnold Road.

The partial closure began on Friday, August 6, 2020 at 9 a.m. and will last until further notice.
