Lord Selkirk Bridge set to close for washing

The Lord Selkirk Bridge, over the Sydenham River on McNaughton Avenue in Wallaceburg, is set to close for a day next week for washing.

Municipality of Chatham-Kent officials say the bridge will be fully closed on Tuesday, August 18, 2020 from 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m., between Dufferin Avenue and Wallace Street.

“All lanes closed… there will be no access over bridge for emergency service vehicles,” Municipal officials say.

Detours will be set up when the work is being completed.

For Highway 40 and heavy traffic, use Murray Street (Hwy 40), Base Line, Old Glass Road, Mason Street, Arnold Street and Dufferin Avenue.

Local and commercial traffic may use Dufferin Avenue, Wellington Street, Fork Street, Margaret Avenue, Murray Street (Hwy 40) and Reaume Avenue.
