MP Rood named Shadow Minister for Agriculture and Agri-Food

Lianne Rood, the Member of Parliament for Lambton-Kent-Middlesex, was appointed Shadow Minister for Agriculture and Agri-Food.

The appointment was a part of the new Conservative Shadow Cabinet announced by the new Leader, Erin O’Toole.

“I am honoured to serve as Shadow Minister for Agriculture and Agri-Food for the Official Opposition, and I look forward to continue working with members of the Canadian agriculture and agri-food sector,” Rood said in a media release.

MP Rood served as the Deputy Shadow Minister for Agriculture and Agri-Food from December 2019 to September 2020.

“The past several months have been difficult for all of Canada and the agriculture industry is no different,” Rood said in a press release.

“Agriculture is vital to this country and our food security has to be a top priority.”

Coming from an agriculture background and an agriculturally rich riding, officials from her office say Rood is ready to use her experience and work with her Conservative colleagues to hold this Liberal government to account.
