Multiple impaired driving charges laid in Lambton County

Impaired driving and prohibited weapon charged in Enniskillen

Lambton OPP officials allege: On September 6, 2020 at approximately 6:50 p.m. members of the Lambton County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were conducting traffic enforcement on Oil Heritage Road, Enniskillen Township.

A Lambton OPP member initiated a traffic stop in relation to a Highway Traffic Act infraction.

Upon speaking with one of the drivers, it became apparent the driver had consumed an alcoholic beverage, at which time a roadside screening device was administered. A reading of “FAIL” was determined. The driver was arrested for impaired operation and provided two samples over the legal limit.

Further investigation revealed open alcohol and a prohibited weapon inside the vehicle.

A 48-year-old Goderich man has been charged with Operation While Impaired- Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 Plus), Unauthorized Possession of a Weapon and Occupant of a Motor Vehicle Knowing There was a Prohibited Weapon, pursuant to the Criminal Code of Canada.

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice-Sarnia, Ontario on December 14, 2020.

Impaired charged after crash in Corunna

Lambton OPP officials allege: On September 6, 2020 at approximately 5:25 p.m. members of the Lambton County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a two vehicle motor vehicle collision at the intersection of Albert Boulevard and Colborne Drive, Town of Corunna.

Lambton OPP members arrived on scene and spoke with both drivers.

Initial investigation revealed one vehicle was rear ended by another.

Upon speaking with one of the drivers, it became apparent the driver had consumed an alcoholic beverage, at which time a roadside screening device was administered.

A reading of “FAIL” was determined. The driver was arrested for impaired operation and provided two samples over the legal limit.

A 26-year-old St. Clair Township resident has been charged with Operation While Impaired- Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 Plus), pursuant to the Criminal Code of Canada.

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice-Sarnia, Ontario on October 5, 2020.

Impaired driving in Dawn-Euphemia

Lambton OPP officials allege: On September 5, 2020 at approximately 8:45 p.m. members of the Lambton County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were on general patrol on Oil Heritage Road, Dawn-Euphemia Township.

Lambton OPP members located a motorbike being driven on Langbank Line and approached the motorbike operator to ensure the motorbike was properly suited for operation on the road. Upon speaking with the driver, it became apparent the driver had consumed an alcoholic beverage, at which time a roadside screening device was administered. A reading of “FAIL” was determined. The driver was arrested for impaired operation and provided two samples over the legal limit.

A 49-year-old Dawn-Euphemia man has been charged with Operation While Impaired- Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 Plus), pursuant to the Criminal Code of Canada.

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice-Sarnia, Ontario on September 21, 2020.

Impaired driving charged in Alvinston

Lambton OPP officials allege: On September 1, 2020 at approximately 4:30 p.m. members of the Lambton County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a possible impaired driver leaving a commercial business in the Town of Alvinston.

Lambton OPP members located the vehicle and observed the driver exit the vehicle with alcohol in their hand. Upon speaking with the driver, it became apparent the driver had consumed an alcoholic beverage and was displaying signs of impairment. The driver was arrested for impaired operation and provided two samples over double the legal limit.

A 48-year-old Brooke-Alvinston man has been charged with Operation While Impaired – Alcohol and Drugs, Operation While Impaired- Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 Plus) and Operation While Prohibited Under the Criminal Code, pursuant to the Criminal Code of Canada.

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice-Sarnia, Ontario on October 19, 2020.
