Woman charged with careless driving

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Yesterday morning, police responded to a two vehicle collision no Dufferin Avenue in Wallaceburg between Hwy 40 and Mirwin Road.

A 31-year-old woman was transported to hospital with minor injuries. She was charged with careless driving.

Disturbance leads to assault charges

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Last night, police responded to a disturbance on King Street East in Chatham.

Through investigation, police learned that the man threatened two teens, all known to each other, while in possession of a knife.

No one was injured.

Officers located the man a short distance away and he was arrested.

The 22-year-old Chatham man has been charged with assault with a weapon, being in possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose and uttering threats.

He was released pending a future court date of October 13, 2020.

Suspicious persons complaint leads to charges

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Last night, police responded to the report of a suspicious man and woman on Grand Avenue East in Chatham.

Officers located the pair and through investigation learned that the man was currently bound by conditions not to communicate with the woman.

The 27-year-old man of no fixed address was arrested and charged with failing to comply with his release conditions and two counts of breach of probation.

He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.

The 26-year-old Chatham woman was arrested and charged with facilitating a breach.

She was released pending a future court date of October 13, 2020.

Man charged with fraud related offences

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Last night, police arrested a man wanted for attempting to cash a stolen cheque in Chatham.

A 23-year-old Chatham man has been charged with fraud under $5,000, being in possession of property obtained by a crime under $5,000 and uttering a forged document.

He was released pending a future court date of October 13, 2020.

Woman arrested on outstanding warrants

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Early this morning, a woman wanted for theft under $5,000, being in possession of property obtained by a crime under $5,000 and failing to attend court was arrested by Windsor Police.

The 38-year-old Windsor woman was transported back to Chatham-Kent for court purposes.

She has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.
