Homeowner helps detain suspect

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Yesterday evening, just shortly after 9 p.m. a man was caught in the backyard of a residence on Park Street in Chatham, attempting to steal marijuana plants.

The homeowner detained the suspect and awaited for police to arrive.

Upon arrival the male was placed under arrest and charged with theft and possession under 5000.

A 49-year-old Chatham man was later released with a future court date of November 3, 2020.

Male arrested on outstanding warrants

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: This morning, just after midnight, police located a 25-year-old Chatham man on St. Clair Street that was wanted on outstanding domestic related charges.

The male was arrested, transported to the Chatham-Kent Police Headquarters and held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Break and enter in Chatham

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Yesterday morning, shortly after 9 a.m. police responded to a storage facility on Grand Avenue East in regards to a break and enter.

It was reported that approximately $3,300 in items were stolen.

There are currently no suspects.

Man arrested on outstanding warrant

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Yesterday, police located a male wanted on outstanding domestic related charges.

The 34-year-old Wallaceburg man was arrested and held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Man arrested on warrant

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Yesterday morning, just before noon, a male wanted on a warrant turned himself in at the Chatham-Kent Police Headquarters.

The 26-year-old was arrested on the warrant for uttering threats and later released with a future court date of October 23, 2020.

Break and enter in Chatham

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Yesterday afternoon, just before 3 p.m., police responded to an address on the southside of Chatham in regards to a break and enter.

Unknown suspects gained entry into a locked greenhouse and removed a marijuana plant.

Female arrested for failing to comply with her release order

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Yesterday just before 5 p.m. a 29-year-old male from Chatham was located by police in his vehicle on Park Avenue East.

He was wanted for failing to comply with his release order.

The male was arrested by police, transported to the station and later released with a future court date.
