Faced with financial challenges, the CBD Club is holding a fish fry fundraiser

With the COVID-19 pandemic presenting ongoing financial challenges, the Canadian Belgian Dutch (CBD) Club is hoping to raise some funds this weekend to help keep them afloat.

The CBD is holding a fish fry fundraiser on Saturday, October 3, 2020 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Connie Moreland, president of the club, told the Sydenham Current the pandemic has caused incredible hardships for the CBD, which puts their future in doubt.

Dana Haggith caught up with Moreland for an interview. Listen, below:

The fish fry will be held in the upstairs ballroom of their 1352 Dufferin Avenue building.

Cost is $15 per plate, people must eat-in and there will be a bar available.

Moreland said the meal includes fried pan fish, fries, coleslaw and a roll.

Advance tickets are available at the bar ahead of time or at the door on the day of the event.
