Family dispute leads to charges

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Yesterday morning, police responded to a family dispute at a residence in Chatham.

Through investigation, police learned that the teen had assaulted her mother.

The 14-year-old Chatham girl was arrested and charged with assault.

She was released to a family member pending a future court date of December 7, 2020.

Man charged with mischief

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On Sunday night, police responded to a mischief complaint at an apartment building in Chatham.

Through investigation, police learned that a tenant had damaged two security camera videos inside the building, causing approximately $2,000 damage.

Yesterday morning, A 31-year-old Chatham man was arrested and charged with mischief under $5,000.

He was released pending a future court date of December 8, 2020.

Theft of truck tires in Tilbury

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Sometime late Sunday night or early Monday morning, unknown suspects forced their way into six storage containers at Lally Sales and Service on Mill Street, causing about $500 damage.

Once inside, the suspects stole approximately 100 brand new truck tires.

Total value of the theft has been estimated at $30,000.

Theft of ATV in Wallaceburg

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Yesterday, sometime between 6 a.m. and 8:30 a.m. unknown suspects stole a 2005 camo Polaris Sportsman ATV from a residence on Minnie Street.

Total value of the theft has been valued at $4,000.

Traffic stop leads to charges

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Yesterday morning, an officer on general patrol initiated a traffic stop on Murray Street in Wallaceburg.

Through investigation, police learned that the man was suspended from driving for unpaid fines and demerit points.

The 30-year-old Sombra Township man has been charged with two counts of driving while under suspension.

He will be required to attend Provincial Offences Court on December 2, 2020.

His vehicle was impounded for seven days as per the Vehicle Impoundment Program.
