Sarnia Police Service officials allege: Four people are facing charges after Sarnia Police executed multiple search warrants in Sarnia and Point Edward that investigators say uncovered a cocaine trafficking operation.
The Sarnia Police Service Drug Unit carried out Controlled Drugs and Substances Act search warrants on June 8 at residences on Lyndale Crescent and Carleton Place in Sarnia, as well as Church Street in Point Edward.
Police say the investigation led to the arrest of four individuals, all of whom have been charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking cocaine under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act. Additional charges related to possession of property obtained by crime were also laid, including amounts under and over $5,000.
Searches at the locations resulted in the seizure of approximately 1,560 grams of cocaine, along with $8,885 in Canadian currency. Police also seized drug-trafficking paraphernalia, including digital scales, packaging materials, cellphones and a debt list.
Investigators estimate the street value of the cocaine at approximately $156,000.
All four accused were held for bail following their arrests but were later released from custody with conditions and are scheduled to appear in court at a future date.
