PAWR offering subsidized spay and neuter vouchers for cats

Pet and Wildlife Rescue has partnered with several local veterinary clinics to offer subsidized spay and neuters for the cats of Chatham-Kent.

The cost of each voucher is $40, and can be used at Merritt Animal Hospital (Chatham), Dresden Veterinary Clinic (Dresden), Grand Ave Pet Hospital (Chatham) and Tilbury Veterinary Hospital (Tilbury).

This initiative was launched only 24 hours ago, and almost half of the available 500 vouchers have been sold.

“We love that the people in Chatham-Kent are as passionate as we are about getting their cats fixed,” PAWR officials say.

“Spaying and neutering will not only reduce the number of unwanted pets roaming the streets, but can decrease the chance of your cat suffering a number of health problems, and can also reduce unwanted behaviours such as wandering, fighting, and yowling.”

To purchase a voucher visit https://pawr.org/product/40-cat-spay-neuter-voucher/ or drop in at the shelter located at 405 Park Ave East.

A free microchip is also being offered if requested at the time of appointment.

There is a five voucher limit per household.
