Sadie Genyn, a member of Walpole Island First Nation, passed away at Wallaceburg Retirement Residence on Sunday, October 11, 2020, at the age of 83.
Sadie is the daughter of the late Simeon and Adeline (Sword) Blackbird.
Beloved wife of the late Henry Genyn.
Dear sister of Keitha R. Hogan (late Mike), Eliza John (late Jasper), Verena Blackbird, and Veronica Aquash (Late Morris).
Predeceased by her siblings Simeon Jr. Blackbird (late Jean), William Blackbird Asiginack (surviving spouse Elizabeth), Marienna Blackbird (Late William Piper), Frances Altiman (late Eugene), Betty Blackbird (late Frank Shipman) and Ida Mae Kicknosway (late Frank).
She will also be missed by her many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends will be received at the HAYCOCK-CAVANAGH FUNERAL HOME, 409 Nelson Street in Wallaceburg on Tuesday from 2-4 PM.
A graveside service will be held at Highbanks Cemetery, Walpole Island on Wednesday, October 14, 2020 at 2 PM.
