Busy sewing shop in downtown Wallaceburg requires a permanent part time person for 8 to 15 hours
per week, either full days or part days.
Suitable candidate must have patience, good eyesight, and a desire to achieve excellent workmanship.
Basic knowledge of the operation of a domestic sewing machine is preferred but not essential.
This position involves efficient hand-stitching and the operation of various sewing machines, and
training will be provided on how to achieve the best possible repairs and alterations to various clothing and household items using a variety of techniques.
The successful applicant will also eventually provide support for and receive training on telephone and walk-in customer service; how to estimate and quote pricing on various jobs; computer data entry
(Excel Spreadsheets); and maintaining inventory and ordering supplies.
Initial minimum wage will be reviewed every 3 months and will be increased with skill level and
productivity.
