School buses in Zone 1-7 are cancelled today, December 1, 2020, due to the weather conditions.
All schools are open, Student Transportation Services officials say.
Buses in Zone 8, which encompasses the city of Chatham, are running normally.
The Zone 8 boundaries are Pioneer Line, Bear Line Road – Bloomfield Road (including Wilcox Park Area), 401 HWY and Prince Albert Road / Communications Road (Inclusive).
A special weather statement remains in effect, as an additional snowfall amount of 5 cm is possible today through Wednesday morning.
Student Transportation Services provides “safe and efficient transportation” to eligible students attending schools in the St. Clair Catholic and Lambton Kent District School Boards.
“We are responsible for all elements associated with the planning and provision of student transportation services and currently utilize nearly 300 school buses, travelling upwards of 45,000kms daily to transport more than 17,000 students across the district,” Student Transportation Services officials say.
