Update: No confirmed COVID-19 cases at Dresden Area Central School

The Lambton-Kent District School Board and CK Public Health have given the all-clear at Dresden Area Central School.

“Based on an update from Chatham-Kent Public Health on Wednesday, December 9, 2020, all Dresden Area Central School students and staff formerly dismissed to quarantine will return to school on Thursday, December 10,” school board officials posted on the Dresden Area Central School website.

“Public Health has confirmed there are currently no confirmed cases of COVID-19 that involve a student or staff member at Dresden Area Central School.”

Public school board officials added: “The Lambton Kent District School Board appreciates the ongoing partnership and support of Chatham-Kent Public Health.”

Families are encouraged to remain vigilant and follow the health and safety protocols in place to mitigate the transmission of COVID-19, including completing the daily school screening assessment tool, school board officials say.

“Together, we will continue to support a safe operation of schools,” school board officials say.

The Lambton Kent District School Board follows the direction of Chatham-Kent and Lambton Public Health regarding the communication of confirmed COVID-19 cases, school board officials said.

Earlier this week, the school said there were two probable cases of COVID-19 in the Dresden Area Central School community.

Reports say 102 students and 15 staff members had been dismissed to quarantine.
