C-K facilities not accepting new bookings from COVID-19 red or lockdown areas

Dr. Colby, Chatham-Kent’s Medical Officer of Health has recently recommended that no new facility bookings from jurisdictions designated as red or in lockdown be accepted, at least until provincial restrictions are loosened.

Municipal officials say in support of this directive, Chatham-Kent facilities will no longer be accepting any new bookings from any residents that reside in a red or lockdown area until further notice.

Existing ice contracts will be honoured, Municipal officials added.

For new bookings, residents of Chatham-Kent may be asked to present photo identification upon entry into the facility to ensure compliance to the directive.

“Most organizations are conducting their own self-monitoring of the risks to ensure that those team members in yellow zones are not exposed to team members in the red or lock down zone,” stated Jeff Bray, director of parks, recreation and cemeteries, in a media release.

“This is a best practice that we encourage across the board for all ice users.”
