Man charged with failing to comply

Chatham-Kent Police Service official allege: Yesterday morning, police responded to a domestic disturbance at a residence in Chatham.

Through investigation, police learned that the man was currently bound by conditions not to communicate with the woman or attend her home.

Officers located the man a short time later and he was arrested.

The 28-year-old Chatham man was charged with two counts of failing to comply with his release conditions.

He was held pending a bail hearing and remanded into custody until today.

Shoplifting leads to charges

Chatham-Kent Police Service official allege: Yesterday afternoon, police responded to a shoplifting complaint at the Real Canadian Superstore in Chatham.

Through investigation, police learned that the man stole $225 worth of meat.

A 47-year-old Chatham man was charged with theft under $5,000 and being in possession of property obtained by a crime under $5,000.

He was released pending a future court date of January 12, 2021.

Executed warrants

Chatham-Kent Police Service official allege: Yesterday morning, police arrested a man in Blenheim who was wanted for domestic and fraud related offences along with failing to attend court.

The 25-year-old Chatham man was released pending a future court date of January 12, 2021.

Chatham-Kent Police Service official allege: Yesterday morning, police arrested a man in Wheatley who was wanted on a Surety Relief Warrant.

Through investigation, police learned that the man was currently bound by several conditions.

A 42-year-old Wheatley man was additionally charged with five counts of failing to comply with his release conditions.

He was held pending a bail hearing and remanded into custody until December 16, 2020.

Chatham-Kent Police Service official allege: Last night, police arrested a man on McNaughton Avenue in Wallaceburg who was wanted for drug possession, theft under $5,000, being in possession of property obtained under $5,000, failing to attend court and for his fingerprints.

The 32-year-old Walpole Island man has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Chatham-Kent Police Service official allege: Last night, police arrested a woman in Chatham who was wanted for fraud related offences and failing to attend court.

A 39-year-old Chatham woman was released pending a future court date of January 5, 2021.

Chatham-Kent Police Service official allege: Last night, police arrested a woman in Chatham who was wanted in connection with two stolen motor vehicle investigations.

The 30-year-old Chatham woman was charged with failing to comply with her curfew, theft over $5,000, being in possession of property under $5,000 and two counts of being in possession of property over $5,000.

She has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Chatham-Kent Police Service official allege: Around 12:30 a.m. this morning, an officer on general patrol initiated a traffic stop on Baxter Street in Chatham.

Through investigation, police learned that the passenger was wanted on two outstanding warrants and was currently bound by a curfew of 11 p.m. to 6 a.m.

The 40-year-old Chatham man was arrested and charged with failing to comply with his release conditions.

He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Traffic stop leads to charges

Chatham-Kent Police Service official allege: Last night, an officer on general patrol initiated a traffic stop on Park Avenue East in Chatham.

Through investigation, the officer learned that the driver was currently suspended for unpaid fines, remedial measures and medical reasons.

The 50-year-old Chatham man charged with three counts of driving while under suspension.

He will be required to attend Provincial Offences Court on January 6, 2021.

Police requesting public’s assistance

Chatham-Kent Police Service official allege: On December 3, 2020 around 7 a.m. an unknown man attended the Esso Circle K gas bar on Victoria Street and pumped $84 worth of gas into his pick-up truck.

The man fled westbound on Longwoods Road towards Chatham without paying.

The man was last seen wearing an orange hoodie under a light brown jacket and light brown pants.

On December 4, 2020 police believe the same vehicle was involved in a motor vehicle collision on Centre Side Road near Claymore Line around 1:45 p.m.

The vehicle intentionally rear-ended another vehicle at a high rate of speed, causing the driver to lose control of their vehicle and come to rest in a water-filled ditch.

A small child was in the vehicle at the time of the collision, thankfully no one was injured.
