Christmas tree disposal options in C-K

The Municipality of Chatham-Kent has released some details about disposing of natural Christmas trees.

“Bring it to one of our Leaf and Yard Depots and we’ll recycle it into wood chips,” Municipal officials said on social media.

“Place it at the curb for collection as a bulk item. Bulk items (including Christmas trees) count toward your weekly garbage/3 bag limit. Christmas trees collected at the curb are sent to landfill for disposal. Do not place a full toter cart out at curb in addition to a tree.”

Municipal officials added: “Don’t place your tree out during the weeks of January 4th and January 11th. These weeks are for extra garbage only.”
