Family dispute leads to assault charges

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Yesterday afternoon, police responded to a disturbance between family members at a residence in Chatham.

Through investigation, police learned that during a verbal argument, a youth in the home assaulted his mother.

The 15-year-old youth was arrested and charged with assault and assault with a weapon.

He was released to another family member pending a future court date of February 22, 2021.

Woman charged with assault

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On December 31, 2020 a woman and her ex-boyfriend engaged in a verbal argument which escalated into a physical altercation while at a residence in Wallaceburg.

Through investigation, police learned that the woman punched the man.

Last night, the 32-year-old Wallaceburg woman was arrested and charged with assault.

She was released pending a future court date of February 2, 2021.

Stolen truck in Harwich Township

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Sometime yesterday morning between 6:30 a.m. and 8:30 a.m. unknown suspects stole a black 2007 GMC Sierra pick-up truck from a property on Eds Line.

The license plates 878 8FN were previously removed by the owner and placed in the back seat of the truck.

Theft of tools in Chatham

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Sometime between December 29, 2020 and January 2, 2021 unknown suspects entered a building on Fifth Street and removed several hand and power tools.

Total value of the theft has been estimated at $15,000.
