Rapid Access to Addiction Medicine clinic returning to previous location

Chatham-Kent Health Alliance’s (CKHA) Rapid Access to Addiction Medicine (RAAM) clinic has returned its operations to its previous location at 47 Emma Street in Chatham effective January 6, 2021.

Hospital officials say during the outset of the pandemic, the RAAM clinic relocated its services to 240 Grand Ave. West, Suite 204 in Chatham to accommodate the COVID-19 Assessment Centre at CKHA’s 47 Emma Street building.

In October 2020, the COVID-19 Assessment Centre re-located to the St. Clair College HealthPlex, Chatham Campus to accommodate increased testing volumes and continues to operate out of that location.

CKAH officials say additionally, since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, the RAAM clinic has seen a significant increase in the number of individuals seeking assistance regarding their substance use.

In September 2020, CKHA’s RAAM clinic expanded its hours of operation in an effort to meet this increased demand for services.

As of Thursday, January 21, 2021, the RAAM clinic will further increase its hours to one extra hour per day and an additional day of operation to accommodate booked appointments.

Effective Thursday, January 21, 2021, hours of operation for the RAAM clinic will be Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m., CKHA officials say.

The clinic on Thursday will be dedicated to booked appointments only to facilitate ongoing substance abuse treatment.

CKHA’s RAAM clinic provides low barrier access for individuals seeking treatment and support for any substance use disorder. Individuals do not need an appointment and are seen on a walk-in basis.
