Man charged with domestic related offences

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Shortly after 11 a.m. yesterday morning, police responded to a domestic disturbance at a residence in Tilbury.

Through investigation, police learned that the man assaulted his common-law partner during a verbal argument.

The 41-year-old woman was transported via ambulance to the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance for medical attention.

The 42-year-old man was arrested and charged with assault.

He was released pending a future court date of February 23, 2021.

Executed warrants

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Yesterday morning, police located a woman in Chatham who was wanted for uttering threats, assault with a weapon, possession of a prohibited weapon and failing to attend court.

The 38-year-old Chatham woman was arrested and released pending a future court date of February 8, 2021.

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Yesterday afternoon, a man who was wanted for weapon related offences and failing to attend court was located by London Police.

The 35-year-old London man was turned over to CKPS officers for court purposes.

He was arrested and released pending a future court date of February 23, 2021.

Traffic enforcement

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Yesterday morning, police conducted speed enforcement on Chatham Street South in Blenheim.

Approximately 40 vehicles travelled through the area with no infractions observed.

Officers will continue to conduct enforcement throughout Chatham-Kent as road safety is a priority for our Police Service.

Motor vehicle collisions

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Yesterday afternoon, police responded to a two vehicle collision on Tweedsmuir Avenue between Dunn Avenue and McGuigan Avenue in Chatham.

No one was injured.

The driver at fault was charged with making a left turn not in safety.

Total damage was estimated at $8000.

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Just before 6 p.m. last night, police responded to a collision involving a police cruiser on Park Street near Prince Street in Chatham.

No one was injured and minor damage was reported.

A 55-year-old Chatham man was charged with start from stopped position – not in safety.

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Officers also responded to two collisions involving deer last night.

Thankfully no one was injured.

We would like to remind drivers to slow down when driving during dusk to dawn hours, as deer are much harder to see, which increases the chance of a collision.
