COVID-19 outbreak declared at Lambton-Kent Composite School in Dresden

A COVID-19 outbreak has been declared at Lambton-Kent Composite School in Dresden.

Chatham-Kent Public Health Unit officials say the outbreak was declared officially on January 26, 2021.

Jeff Moco, a spokesperson for CK Public Health, told the Sydenham Current the outbreak is linked to two staff members at the school.

Lambton-Kent District School Board officials said on their website that schools and school boards will not be reporting COVID-19 case data during the provincially mandated remote learning period.

“In the event of a confirmed case of COVID-19, Public Health will contact any individuals (students and staff) who may have been in potential contact with the virus,” school board officials say.

“If you have not been contacted by Public Health, you have not been in close contact with a confirmed case.”

The Lambton Kent District School Board follows the direction of Chatham-Kent and Lambton Public Health regarding the communication of confirmed COVID-19 cases.
