Update: Police continue to investigate after a shooting in Chatham

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Around 6 p.m. last night, police responded to a disturbance outside a residence on Harvey Street.

A 37-year-old man and 17-year-old youth, both from Chatham, sustained gunshot wounds and were transported to the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance for medical attention of non-life-threatening injuries.

A dog was also shot and killed during the incident.

The suspects, who fled the scene in a white compact car, have been identified.

Officers are continuing their attempts to locate them.

Police believe this was isolated incident and that there is no threat to public safety.

Members of the Major Crime Unit have taken over the investigation.
