Two sent to hospital with gunshot wounds after a shooting in Chatham

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: At around 6 p.m. tonight, police responded to a disturbance outside a residence on Harvey Street.

Two residents from Chatham sustained gunshot wounds and were transported to the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance for medical attention.

The suspects fled the scene in a white compact car.

Police believe there is no threat to public safety as this was a targeted incident.

Citizens in the area will see an increase in police presence as the scene is being held pending further investigation.

Members of the Major Crime Unit have taken over the investigation.
