Woman charged with theft

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Yesterday afternoon, police responded to a shoplifting complaint at Walmart in Wallaceburg.

Through investigation, police learned that the woman concealed make-up products in her purse and exited the store without paying for them.

Total value of the theft was approximately $56.

The Loss Prevention Officer informed police that the woman was also responsible for another theft on January 22, 2021.

A 26-year-old Wallaceburg woman was arrested and charged with two counts of theft under $5,000.

She was released pending a future court date of March 5, 2021.

Man charged with mischief

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Around 6:30 p.m. last night, police responded to a disturbance at a residence in Tilbury.

Through investigation, police learned that the man threw a rock at his mother-in-law’s car, breaking the rear window.

Total damage was estimated at $500.

The 25-year-old Tilbury man was arrested and charged with mischief under $5,000.

He was released pending a future court date of March 3, 2021.

Executed warrants

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Yesterday afternoon, police located a woman who was wanted for mischief under $5,000. A 20-year-old Chatham woman was arrested and released pending a future court date of February 19, 2021.

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Last night, police arrested a man who was wanted in connection with a shoplifting incident.

He was charged with theft under $5,000, being in possession of property obtained by a crime under $5,000, assault and failing to attend court for his fingerprints.

A 34-year-old man, of no fixed address, was released pending a future court date of February 17, 2021.

Theft of meat in Chatham

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Just before 1 a.m. this morning, police responded to an alarm at Schinkels Gourmet Meats on Richmond Street.

Through investigation, police learned that an unknown suspect smashed the front door and stole three boxes of meat.

With the assistance of video surveillance, the suspect was wearing a white N95 mask, grey baseball hat, black toque, black jacket, blue jeans and white running shoes with black laces.

Theft of tools in Kent Bridge

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Sometime between Saturday night at 11:30 p.m. and Sunday morning at 9:30 a.m. unknown suspects entered an unlocked garage on Coll Street.

Once inside, the suspects stole several Ryobi tools and MasterCraft welder.

Total value of the theft was estimated at $2,000.

Theft of ATV in Dresden

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Sometime over the past week, unknown suspects stole a 2005 red and black ‘Brute Force’ Kawasaki ATV from a residence on St. George Street.

The ATV was last seen with Ontario license plate 5RX49.

Total value of the theft has been estimated at $3,500.
