Minor hockey set to resume in Wallaceburg next week

Minor hockey players are set to hit the ice once again at Wallaceburg Memorial Arena, starting next week.

“Lakers we heard you loud and clear and we’re coming back next week,” Wallaceburg Minor Hockey Associations (WMHA) officials posted on social media.

“Thank you to everyone for the quick response to our online survey. We had an overwhelming yes response (over 90%) to coming back to hockey regardless of public health (colour) zone. Thank you Lakers families for your support and patience throughout this challenging season.”

WMHA officials also issued a “big thank-you” to Jane, Jeff and Andrea from the Municipality of Chatham Kent for their ongoing support in making arrangements for their March schedule.

As they finalize outstanding costs, WMHA officials say they will be updating the membership on people’s refund status.

“Our commitment is to maintain player registration costs aligned with historical calculations on a per skate basis and in doing so your WMHA board will ensure you continue to realize great value playing hockey in Wallaceburg,” WMHA officials say.

Further details will be posted on their Facebook page and website leading up to next week, WMHA officials added.
