CK Public Health adjusts time frame between first & second COVID-19 vaccine doses

The Chatham-Kent Public Health Unit has released new information in regards to the time frame necessary between the first and second doses of the COVID-19 vaccine.

“Recently, some important changes have been made with regard to the time between doses for COVID-19 vaccinations in Ontario,” CK Public Health officials posted on social media.

Public health officials say as directed by Dr. David Williams, Chief Medical Officer of Health for Ontario, the following guidance will be used in Chatham-Kent:

– The time period between the first and second doses of COVID-19 vaccines will now be 16 weeks, with the following exemptions: Residents of long-term care homes, retirement homes, elder care lodges, and assisted living facilities; and remote and isolated First Nation communities, including those living at Delaware Nation at Moraviantown.

“Individuals are instructed to call 519-351-1010 to book their second dose appointments three months from the date of their first dose,” CK Public Health officials say.

CK Public Health is not currently booking second dose appointments, officials added.

At three months after the date of their first vaccine, individuals are instructed to call the CK Public Health vaccination line at 519-351-1010 to book their second appointment according to the table below:
