Police: Bow and arrow seized in Wallaceburg, assault, RIDE

Woman charged with assault

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Yesterday morning, police responded to an assault complaint.

Through investigation, police learned that the victim was assaulted while driving her daughter and friend from Wallaceburg to Tilbury.

The victim pulled over on the side of the road and both women were asked to leave the vehicle.

The 25-year-old Tilbury woman was arrested and charged with assaulting her mother.

She was released pending a future court date of April 6, 2021.

Man charged with breach of probation

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Yesterday afternoon, police responded to the report of a suspicious man around a business on Dufferin Avenue in Wallaceburg.

Officers located the man and through investigation learned that he was in possession of a small bow and arrow, regardless of being on conditions not to possess any weapons.

A 28-year-old man, of no fixed address, was arrested and charged with breach of probation.

He was released pending a future court date of April 14, 2021.

Man charged with breaching curfew 

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Last night around 9:20 p.m. police responded to the report of a small fire in the area of King Street East in Chatham near CN property.

Officers located a man near the fire and through investigation learned that he was currently bound by a curfew of 9 p.m. to 7 a.m.

The 28-year-old Chatham man was arrested and charged with failing to comply with his release conditions.

He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Disturbance leads to arrests

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Around 3:30 a.m. this morning, police responded to a disturbance at a residence in Chatham.

Through investigation, police learned that the woman was currently bound by conditions not to attend this address or communicate with the man.

The 25-year-old Chatham woman was arrested and charged with failing to comply with her release conditions.

She was released pending a future court date of April 14, 2021.

The 24-year-old Chatham man was arrested and charged with facilitating a breach. He was released pending a future court date of April 14, 2021.

Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere (RIDE)

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Last night, officers conducted RIDE spot checks in Ridgetown, Thamesville, Dresden and Chatham.

A total of 350 vehicles were checked with two roadside breath tests administered.

No one was charged with impaired driving.

Six tickets were issued for Highway Traffic Act and Liquor License Act offences.

The Chatham-Kent Police would like to remind motorists that RIDE spot checks will continue throughout the Municipality this week.
