Woman charged with breach of probation

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On March 3, 2021 a woman entered into three separate Probation Orders with several conditions.

Two of those conditions stated that she was not to communicate with a specific Chatham man or attend his residence.

On Saturday night, the pair were observed together in the man’s apartment building.

Yesterday afternoon, police located the woman in Chatham and she was arrested.

The 41-year-old woman, of no fixed address, was charged with six counts of failing to comply with her Probation Order.

She was released pending a future court date of April 20, 2021.

Man charged with domestic and drug related offences

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On Sunday night, a verbal argument between a man and woman escalated into a physical altercation while at the woman’s apartment in Wallaceburg.

Yesterday afternoon, police located the man in Wallaceburg and he was arrested.

Upon being searched incident to arrest, the man was found to be in possession of suspected psilocybin.

The 22-year-old Windsor man has been charged with assault, assault causing bodily harm and drug possession.

He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Man charged with dangerous driving

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Shortly after 9 p.m. last night, an officer on general patrol observed a car travelling at a high rate of speed on Grand Avenue West in Chatham.

As the man turned onto St. Clair Street, the officer attempted a traffic stop, but the man failed to stop and continued driving through the Forest Street area, disobeying a stop sign.

The vehicle came to a stop behind a residence on Selkirk Street and the occupants fled on foot.

The driver was taken into custody and found to be in possession of drug paraphernalia and two cell phones.

Through investigation, police learned that the man was currently bound by conditions not to possess more than one cell phone or drug paraphernalia.

The 33-year-old Chatham man has been charged with dangerous driving, flight from police, driving while under suspension and failing to comply with his release conditions.

He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.

His vehicle was towed from the scene and impounded for seven days as per the Vehicle Impoundment Program.

Man charged with failing to comply

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Last night, police responded to the report of a suspicious man inside a store on St. Clair Street in Chatham.

The man left prior to police arrival, however officers were provided with his physical descriptors.

Officers located the man riding his bicycle a short distance away and through investigation learned that that man was currently bound by conditions not to attend the store.

The 29-year-old man of no fixed address was arrested and charged with failing to comply with his Probation Order.

He was also arrested and charged with breaching his Probation Order regarding a separate incident in Chatham on Saturday.

He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Theft of TV in Wallaceburg

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Around 9 p.m. last night, an unknown man forced his way into a residence on John Park Line, causing about $300 damage.

Once inside, the man stole a 55” Samsung Smart TV valued at $900.

The homeowner was awoken by the noise and observed the man leaving in a silver 4-door Volkswagen Jetta.

The suspect was described as a white man in his mid 30’s, who was approximately 5’6” with a medium build.

He was last seen wearing a light grey zip-up sweater, black jeans, ball cap, black ski mask and black gloves.

Stolen ATV in Chatham

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Sometime between Sunday at 8 p.m. and Monday at 5:45 a.m. unknown suspects entered an unlocked garage on Grand Avenue East and stole a blue and white 2017 Yamaha ZSC ATV.

The ATV was last seen with Ontario license plate 6RW21.

Value of the theft has been estimated at $25,000.

Theft of dirt bike in Chatham

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Sometime between Sunday at 6 p.m. and Monday at 10 a.m. unknown suspects stole an orange 1983 Honda 350R dirt bike from the backyard of a residence on Grand Avenue East.

Value of the theft has been estimated at $1,200.

Motor vehicle collision

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Yesterday afternoon, police responded to a single motor vehicle collision on McDougall Line near Baert Road.

No one was injured.

Total damage was estimated at $5,000.

A 23-year-old Windsor man was charged with careless driving.
