Bonnie Lou McKenzie formerly of Wallaceburg

It is with great sadness, we the McKenzie family` announce the passing of our special mother,
grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend to many, Bonnie Lou (Morris) McKenzie, formerly of Tillsonburg and Wallaceburg, at the Woodingford Lodge, Ingersoll, on March 25th , 2021, at the age of 90.

Bonnie was born in Wallaceburg, to the late William and Margaret (McQuiggan) Morris.

Bonnie’s passions included playing Bridge in many clubs and with friends; she could have been regarded as a tournament level player.

In her younger years, Bonnie was a member of Tillsonburg Golf and Country Club and a proud Tillsonburg Lioness for 15 years.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church.

Over her working years, she held several clerical positions between Wallaceburg and Tillsonburg, most recently employed as a receptionist for the Tobacco Growers’ Marketing Board.

Bonnie is predeceased by her husband of 67 years, James Samuel McKenzie (July 23, 2017).

She will be dearly missed by her loving and much-loved children Karen (Peter) Fraser, of London; Kim (Ted) Carmichael, of Niagara on-the-Lake; and Scott (Terri) McKenzie, of Tillsonburg.

Loving grandmother to Jeremey (Amy) MacRae, Trisha (Steve) Voth, Amy (Robbie) Jennings, Brooke Crane, Will Carmichael and Jay (Trish) McKenzie and eight special great-grandchildren: Avery, Clarke, Agnes, Freida, Andie, Peyton, Presley and Hayden.

Survived by her sister Carmen Rosseel, of St. Mary’s, ON and predeceased by her brother Wayne.

In keeping with Bonnie’s expressed wishes, cremation has taken place.

Regrettably, due to COVID-related attendance restrictions, the memorial service to honour Bonnie’s Life will be private family event at this time.

A memorial service will take place in the Maurice J. Verhoeve Funeral Services – Burial and Cremation Services Inc. Chapel, Tillsonburg on Saturday, April 10th , 2021 at 11:00 a.m. by Rev. Pat Cook, of Otterville United Church.

All are invited to digitally attend via a livestream link, which will be posted approximately 1 hour prior to service time (a direct link can be requested by emailing verhoevefuneral@kwic.com).

Later interment in the Riverview Cemetery, Wallaceburg.
