Sinclair Heating Systems recently sat down for an interview with the Sydenham Current.
The business is a complete sales and service provider to the disaster restoration, floor cleaning, janitorial and car detailing industries.
They have proudly served the Ontario market for over 35 years.

How has the COVID-19 pandemic impacted your business?
Admittedly, it has been challenging.
I do not think there are any small business operations out there that haven’t been impacted by it, in one way or another, especially with the lockdowns.
For us, the most noticeable difference is how it has affected our traditional client base, especially professional cleaners.
During the initial shutdown, most of them did not operate and, consequently, our business took a hit.
We are not selling as many professional carpet cleaning products.
However, we have increased our sales in other areas.
We have been selling a number of COVID-19-related products such as Health Canada approved disinfectants, enriched hand sanitizer, gloves, masks and more.
We are also encouraging our carpet cleaning customers to adapt to the pandemic by expanding their service offerings and offering disinfection services.
We carry all of the products they need and we can direct them to the proper training in order to offer them.
We are even considering offering that type of training, ourselves.
We have always offered professional training and certification courses, but the model is changing.
E-learning is becoming more and more commonplace.
So, we are looking into that and developing e-commerce for our website, sinclaircleaningsystems.com.
As I mentioned, our clients come first and most of our professional carpet cleaning customers have been buying from us for years, even decades.
We are trying to do whatever we can to get them through this pandemic.
That is certainly admirable… it sounds like you are adapting well to the changing business landscape. Can you a tell me a bit more about your COVID-19-related products that you mentioned?
Sure.
As I mentioned, we sell a complete range of products that can help business owners and homeowners, alike, more effectively combat COVID-19.
For instance, we sell a gel hand sanitizer at a terrific price.
It is available in 18.5 ounce bottles with a dispenser cap and 4L refill jugs that is enriched with jojoba, vitamin E and glycerin to prevent the dry skin that happens with the frequent use of most hand sanitizers.
For businesses, schools and even safety-first homeowners, we sell touchless dispensers for the hand sanitizers.
We also have floor and table-top stands for the dispensers as well.
Disinfectants have become a big area for us, since the outbreak of the pandemic.
While we sell a number of different disinfection-type options, we are recommending botanical disinfectants for COVID-19.
Botanicals offer clear advantages to most disinfectant types.
First off, they are extremely effective, not just against COVID-19, but a wide range of other pathogens, including other viruses like H1N1 and bacteria.
Botanical disinfectants are also very safe to use.
They do not require PPE, although we still recommend it and they do not require anyone to necessarily evacuate the premises during the disinfection process.
They are ready-to-use, do not require rinsing or wiping and does not streak.
They are also very versatile – they both clean and disinfect a wide-range of surfaces and you can even use them for mould control and water damage situations.
You’ve sold me! I am now convinced that botanical disinfectants are the way to go. Are they expensive?
Yes, they are the way to go during this pandemic and no, they are actually more cost-effective than most disinfectant types.
We sell three botanical disinfectant products: Benefect Decon-30, Benefect wipes and Concrobium Broad Spectrum Disinfectant.
Benefect products use botanical essential oils that have been specially grown & blended to exacting specifications.
This groundbreaking botanical technology is proven to kill over 99.99% of bacteria and surpasses the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s efficacy requirements for broad spectrum hospital disinfectants.
The Decon-30 is available in 4L jugs and the Benefect Wipes, somewhat like Lysol Disinfectant Wipes, but safer, are available in pails of 250 6” x 9” wipes.

We strongly recommend this products because it not only offers the greatest overall value, but it is extremely versatile.
It is an excellent streak-free glass and Plexiglass cleaner.
It also works great on appliances, countertops, door knobs and other high-touch surfaces and can even be used to clean and disinfect your floors.
It is a superb choice for businesses and homes alike.
Concrobium Broad Spectrum Botanical Disinfectant can also be applied in a variety of ways.
It can damp-mopped onto floors, sprayed onto counters and other horizontal surfaces and can even be used with a foamer for vertical surfaces.
However, for businesses, the quickest and easiest way to apply it would be through the use of a cold fogger; which we also sell.
Cold-fogging sprays a fine mist into the air and evenly distributes the disinfectant throughout a room, even in hard to-reach ‘nooks and crannies.’
Well, this has been quite an education. I now feel more confident in my knowledge to combat and prevent the spread of COVID-19 and it is reassuring to know that the products and expert knowledge is available right here in Chatham-Kent at Sinclair Cleaning Systems.
