Report of suspicious man leads to arrest
Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Yesterday morning, shortly after 6 a.m. police responded to the report of a suspicious man around a residence on Longwoods Road.
Through investigation, police learned that the homeowner observed the man near his van outside.
When the homeowner approached the man, he became belligerent and aggressive.
The homeowner returned into the house and called 911.
Officers located the man inside the van with the ignition damaged.
A 49-year-old Moraviantown man was arrested and charged with theft over $5,000, mischief over $5,000 and assault.
He was held in custody pending a bail hearing and released by the courts with a future court date of May 25, 2021.
Man charged with failing to comply
Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On April 22, 2021 the man was released from custody with several conditions.
One of those conditions stated that he was not to communicate with a specific Wheatley woman or attend her residence.
On Friday night, the man attended the woman’s home.
Police were notified of the incident on Saturday.
Yesterday morning, police located the man and he was arrested.
The 57-year-old Wheatley man has been charged with failing to comply with his release conditions.
He was held in custody pending a bail hearing and released by the courts with a future court date of May 25, 2021.
Warrant arrest leads to drug charges
Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Yesterday morning, police located a man in Wallaceburg who was wanted for failing to comply with his release conditions.
Upon being searched incident to arrest, the man was found to be in possession of suspected methamphetamine and Fentanyl along with switchblade knife.
A 36-year-old Wallaceburg man was additionally charged with unauthorized possession of a weapon and two counts of possession for the purposes of trafficking.
He was released pending a future court date of June 3, 2021.
